Managed to fit in a few short sessions over the past few days even though the east & south east winds had the sea flat calm which is a nightmare for spinning these marks.

I made my way to my favourite rock mark that holds some fine fish up to the 10 lb mark. The sea was very calm & the spinning was very dead for the first hour, then it was pretty much a fish every two or three casts mostly Pollock with the odd few Coalies mixed in, all the Pollock were around the 2 lb mark which gave great accounts for the size of them
They were hammering the spinner jumping clear from the water a great sight to watch.
I lost a few good fish along with two fine Pollock which got under the ledges & got free

but was a great evening to be out spinning with a lovely sunset.

I couldn’t help myself & hit the same mark again what can I say it’s a very addictive hobby

, the aim was to catch something decent but again the 2 lb Pollock were on the attack & on the last few casts hooked a fine fish but again got down under one of the ledges & got free again

this mark is very hard to fish with a system of ledges running out every direction covered with kelp, another good fish lost but the smaller ones kind of made up for it.

While at work on Saturday all that was going through my head was them good fish I lost the last few session

& still had nothing decent caught so when I finished up I headed back for half an hour to try & to redeem myself & it paid off - ten minutes into the session bang a big Pollock hit the spinner like a train

what a great scrap & man was I glad to get her clear of the dreaded ledges & landed safely, a fine Pollock of slightly over 6 lb

happy days first decent Pollock of the year roll on the next session!!!
