Report:
Finally got to do my first trip of the year to the Shannon. Weather wasn't great but we stuck it out for a few hours. Weed was causing quite a problem with massive fronds of kelp picking up rigs(p.b. over 12 feet long

) After a slow start the dogs started to show. I'm not complaining as it was nice to get a bend in the rod and they were not coming in plague proportions. A slack line on a squid/sandeel wrap gave me my first ray of the year, not massive but very welcome.
My mate Joe had a nice huss close in on a mackerel fillet

My wife always tells me that the camera puts pounds on her

and after seeing this picture of the huss I am starting to believe her!
A few more dogs and a better ray for me finished the session which wasn't hectic but kept us busy for a few hours.
