Report:
Spent the day in Contact with Shep and Dean who had been fishing down in Portaferry again, sadly it sounded like a pretty poor session with only a couple of fish landed. So the boys were still in full fishing mode when I met them at 6pm on a Local beach to dig lug. An hours digging produced more than enough for all three of us, and so we made our way to the pier.
I was down about 10 minutes before the other 2 lads and set up 2 rod, 1 with a Loop and the other with a flapper for close in work. Gabbey and Shep got down and the fishing began in ernest.
Shep had only brough he dangling rod, which seems to be a serious pursuit for him, and managed a good shorey late on in the session.
Gabbey and I had brought the full gear and were fishing hard, with hardly 5 minutes going by between Coalies, interspersed with a few Wrasse species and a couple of Long Spined Sea Scorpions.
While he was fishing for the Coalies Gabbey also managed the biggest Donaghadee Flounder I have seen to date. Took us both by surprise but great to see it!
All in all, a good night out with the lads, roll on the next one! =]
