Report: Saturday 30th April:
Slow fishing with heavy surf , and severe rip current tow on line kept dislodging 6 oz grip lead. Nothing for first hour of coming tide then a hard knock followed with a bowing rod tip. This produce my first bass of the season at 5lb 10oz taken on fresh sandeel ,a hard fighting fish which felt heftier than he looked.
Shortly after I got a second pull which knocked the rod out of its cup holder ... can't tell what that was as I only saw the rod springing out and hitting the sand , line going dead
After that I had a barely noticeable pulling plaice which was well hidden by the strengthening surf.
That was it, wouldn't have mattered if I caught nothing as weather and scenery was fantastic
