People: me and met Anto and Seanie who were out too
Duration:8pm to 2.30am
Tide:HT 11:50pm
Weather:Windy, but dry. Very rough seas.
Bait:Wrag
Rigs:1 hook rotten bottom, 1 hook flapper, 2 hook flapper, sandeel lure
Results: Me-1 pollack 15cm & 1 Doggies. Anto and Seanie got pollack and flounder, a little more hardcore than me they were staying around to catch more from 6am after a bit of kip so maybe more
The seas were extremely rough and the tide was coming in to about 1m from the steps of the changing area. Not sure if this normal for this beach but was good fun no less. I started fishing to left of the platform put my tackle into the left rocky areas. Very snaggy but nothing going. Used 1hook rotten bottom rigs, but only lost one wieght.
I then went lure fishing at the very far right of the beach, lure with a 2oz swivel weight. The tide was fast coming in and got soaked and fell over a rock. Lesson learned buy some wellies!!
As the tide started really coming in I fished just to the right of the diving platform. Cast straight out about 3m to right of it. Picked up the pollack ontop of high tide, and the doggie 1hr the other side of it.
I had a light rod too, put on a 1 hook flapper and was casting into the surf about 5m to right of the platform. Was getting nibbles on it but it was very hard to tell with sea's so rough but passed the time while i let the main rod soak.
Good nights fishing, glad i didn't blank but hopefully next time get a few bigger ones!! Will be going back there to fish during the day/high tide and maybe at low tide to see more of the beach and learn the terrain some more.
PS If your going night fishing, check before you leave your house u got your flashlight. I didn't and rigging up with a phone as your light sucks!
