Report: The weekend was upon us again so the thoughts turned, as always, to fishing! Decided on a wicklow beach mark that always seems to produce more for me on the ebb, collected my brother Les for his first ever sea-fishinng session and away we went. Hit the mark, and got set-up, baits in the water at 1945 and settled down to wait for darkness and the arrival of the fishy action. As it happened we didn't need to wait for darkness. I noticed a few fish jumping along the beach and had wondered aloud if they were sea-trout, then I thought about how I didn't have any sandeel, just some refrozen mackeral. Thirty seconds later the brothe'rs rod gets a savage hit, fish on

Reeled it in to find a lovely 47 cm sea-trout in great nick

What a start to his fishing career

The last time I took another brother fishing his first cast produced a 41 cm flounder and now this, I must be some sort of novice fisherman lucky charm, shame it doesn't seem to come my way a bit
Anyway, few pics and off the fish went like a rocket into the surf, a beautiful sight.
Settled down again and then the doggies came on a bit along with a solitary flounder to 31 cm. As darkness fell, Denis joined us and got in on the doggie action. Was surprised that no more flounder were had but we were all happy to have had a good nights fishing and craic. I'm looking for some serious fishing karma over the next few weeks though!! Few photos below.
