Fished a mark this morning, spotted lots of fish and had a few follows but no hook ups

so decided to try again this evening after work. Arrived at the mark and met James Barry who was on his way up the beach, exchanged the usual banter... any fish?

, Headed down to the spot anyway, one other fishing there already but no fish quick chat and had a few casts nearby. Decided to move back up a bit and third cast fish on

, nice scrappy fight from a bass just a bit over three lbs

. Seanie arrived down and took up position further up the beach. Was getting a few taps every other cast or so for about the next hour but no luck then wallop rod buckled over , I thought this is a good fish, the rod was arced over to the butt and hopping, I couldnt see the fish at first then saw it a mullet foul hooked in the side and not happy! It continued to put a bend in the rod and diving for deeper water while I tightened up the drag and with the help of another buddy who had just arrived managed to beach the mullet a 6lber! I have to say that even though the fish was foul hooked it gave a serious account of itself and lb for lb these boys can fight. Fished for another while , one other bass was landed by the fella nearest us (about 4lbs I reckon).Packed up just as it got dark.
