with a couple of days work up north we packed the rods and baits in case there was a chance of a wee session. when we came over the final mountain to our destination there was a massive surf on the beach so all i could think of was getting the job done and getting into the fishing.
we eventually got set up on the beach around 8pm and it was actually hard to tell whether the tide was coming in or going out as the surf was even bigger by now. to cast out over the big ones meant we had to wade out to our waist and then get back to shore real quick before we got sucked out to sea in the next big wave, exciting stuff.

first hour passed without a bite but we were'nt really that bothered as the scenery and waves kept us occupied but eventually the bites started coming.
first fish went to the brother a coley about a lb weight and the next, a nice little turbot and the next, a double shot of turbot and coley, a nice coley at that close to 2.5lb and again another turbot .

finally my first fish on and fighting well untill halfway in things go a little lighter but still something on so in comes a fine flounder just short of 40cm. im sure i lost a good coley unless the flounder fought like that anyway one last cast before retiring to the bed at 11pm as its an early start in the morning and that was that. took a bit of a trashing but was great to see some turbot landed. all fished returned after a photo but what a beautiful place to fish
