2 Codling, 2 Coalfish, 1 Flounder, 1 Plaice, 1 Dogfish

Report:

Decided to give the North Coast a run tonight for the first time with myself driving, and Danny as co pilot. Pretty uneventful trip up except for me sh*t*n a brick during my first journey on the M2!
Got to the venue for about 6pm and got a rod each set up, just in time for the thunder/lightning/rain/hail to start, so a 15 minute retreat to the car was in order, with the rods in view at least we'd see if something huge pulled them off the rests. The rain eased briefly and spurred us into a bait check, 2 heavy rods indicated a fish a piece, a small Plaice for Daniel and a 25cm Flounder for me.
So got the rods rebaited just in time for the next downpour, which sounded more like driving under a waterfall, with torrential rain and marbel sized hail. 10 minutes later and it had eased, I had a "stuff it moment", I was there to fish, so the rain wasn't going to put me back into the car again, Battoned down the hatches on the Floatation jacket and went back down, this time Dan had a Coalfish and I got a nice surprise a daytime Dogfish!
Stuck a bigger loop onto the Evo and sent it as far as I could, rewarded with a Codling while Dan hooked another coalfish closer in. Dan was soaked through, and had enough, so with that I set about packing my gear down, Reeled the SK Bass in for the last time to find a small codling lightly hooked and quickly released.
On the way down the road we stopped off to see how the GADSAC was getting on at Waterfoot beach, Seemed to be a lot of Coalies and Flounders coming in, Had a yarn with the Harrys and Round Ourway and it was time to head on down, Stopped at Glenarm car park, saw a few beach buddies there, but just then the heavens opened again and we thought better of going down to a soaking yarn!

Anyway, another great night up the coast, and glad to see Dan ticking Plaice of this years species list!!!
