[b]Duration:
11.30am to 4pm

Tide:HT 3.00 pm (3.4m)

Weather:Sunny and Calm

Bait:Lots of peelers

Rigs:2 hook paternosters, 1up & 1 down, 3 hook paternosters, Bombers & feathers.

Results:6 coddling, 1 whiting, 1 poor cod, 10 mackerel, 2 flounder.

I had some bait left over from the weekend and took the day off. We had a great time as my two buddies are new to the game. First fish was flounder (33cm) from dead mans poles in gin clear water. We move to the very tip of the point after 1pm. First cast at distance produced a coddling of 2lb and 1.5lb, a lovely surprise this time of year and in daylight. The mackerel came in and we targeted them for a while and got some but they were scarce enough. Back to bottom fishing I pulled in a small whiting and poor cod. Then a another coddling of 1.5 lbs. Things went slack around high water and we had one more flounder (30cm) and a odd small coddling (even on feathers). The weed became a problem and we packed up, but it beats work any day.
