Well done on the bass, nice flounder too.
I reckon I was fishing the western end of the next beach to the west of you last night - I did see a headlamp earlier in the night.
What makes you think there is a net there?
I fished that beach on Saturday afternoon for a while (until the wind and rain got too bad), there was a red marker bouy about 400 m out from the eastern end of the beach, I couldn't see any other bouys so thought it was a lobster pot marker. Is that what you saw?

Hi Frank,
That must have been you I passed in the carpark at 8:30. I went down to watch the moon come up.

Hi Pat,
Yes I guess that was me, I arrived just as the moon was beginning to rise.
Nice night to be out, I had three bass (largest 52 or 53 cms) plus a 42 cm flounder.

I thought I saw nets there last year (bouys anyway) and made a post here. I got a PM off a local who would ask around... turned out it was lobster pots... that stretch is also a very good place for lobster. I go diving in a bay west of there and there are always lobsters and pots around, I was told its teh same guy who moves his pots up and down the stretch...
But then again... there have been a lot of reports here about east cork bass so..........
The only way to know for shure is to head out to the bouy and see what boat its registered to...
Lovely flounder BTW.

Nice few fish. Good to meet you last night. All we had were flounders all night. Nothing massive either. We were hoping for a bass over low water but the weather turned well nasty so we took off at about 9.45. The lads fishing up from us had 6 bass alright but we got preoccupied flattie bashing so probably missed the run of them.
