People: Just me

Duration: 1700-1900

Tide: Push, n High

Weather: Drizzle, No Wind, Flat Calm

Bait: Lugworm, White Rag

Rigs: 1/0 Pullys

Results: 1 Baby Sea Scopion

Report:

Dug worms this morning and had decided on Portaferrys as the venue for the first time this year. Got to the mark to find a rather large boat moored up on the side of the pier, no matter, I could still fish up into the eddy. Go 2 Rods set up with pullys and baited up with Lug. Was expecting some small codling, as is usually the standard down here. So sat down and waited, and waited, brown crab, then waited some more. 20 Minutes between bait changes and finding the worms coming in in the same condition they went out. About 6.30pm I got a few taps on the bass rod which I connected with to find a small Sea Scorpion holding on for dear life.

The large boat was sorting out buoys up the Lough, and one of the fellas came ashore to have a yarn, his job allows him to go Sea Angling all over the U.K. and it was great to hear a few stories about what he'd caught around our shores.

Nice Calm night, pity there wasn't more fish, may go down and try again once the big boat leaves.

so anyway, you did better than me. saved the blank too. nice1
