Donaghadee Harbour, Co Down, 05/03/11

Sun Mar 06, 2011 12:10 am

People: Me and my Radio

Duration: 7pm - 10pm

Tide: Pushing

Weather: Wee Breeze, Good Cloud Cover

Bait: Lugworm and Mackeral

Rigs: Loops, Pulley

Results:
1 Flounder, 6 Coalies, 1 Shore Rocking,

Report:

With Dan away I decided to get out by myself tonight. Stuck local tonight, and somewhat aprehensively went to Donaghadee for my first lone visit since the incident.
Fished the usual, with a Loop in the middle and a pulley over the back wall. Things started off slow, and after 50 minutes, and the 3rd cast I retrieved a 20cm Flounder. After this I started picking up a few more Coalies on the loop, bites were easily detectable on the affinity twins lighter tip and that kept me interested for the rest of the night.
Managed one small shorey which looked like it had been through the wars, bits of fins missing and all, but good to see him.
Nothing happened on the rod over the back for the duration, was hoping for a doggie but didn't get a sniff...
Lug was definitely the bait for the night, and the fish seemed to be hard to bottom as they all came to the bottom snood.
All fun, and good to be back on home ground.

Well done Drew, good to see those muppets didnt put you off,i'd send Fishface up to sort them out( one flash of his snipping scissors and they'd be off  ) only his head comes in handy for stopping runaway leads  . I think he feels safer on his own now  .
