People:10 MEMBERS CARRICKFERGUS BEACH & ROCKERS S.A.C.
Duration:5 HOURS
Tide:3 HOURS IN TWO HOURS OUT
Weather: CALM WITH LIGHT N/WESTERLY WIND
Bait: RAG, LUG, SANDEEL , MACKERAL
Rigs: THREE HOOK FLAPPERS IN CLOSE AND CLIPPED DOWN WISHBONES & VARIOUS DISTANCE RIGS
Results:L.S.DOGFISH, CODLING,COALFISH,FLOUNDER, PLAICE,POLLACK, BULLHUSS
Report: hastily arranged outing that turned out to be one of the best evenings fishing in a long time, club treasurer bobby laughlin took the heaviest fish pool with a lovely bullhuss weighing 3.940kgs (8lb 11ozs)
the fish were thick on the ground during darkness with sizable codling, coalies, plaice, flounder, pollock being taken at all distances three hooks three fish a lot of the time, doggies were also there in abundance, i myself had five species and lost count how many keepers taken, well over thirty, after the disapointment at fahan this was just what we needed especially bobbys bullhuss which was taken on a clipped down size 2/0 pennel rig with sandeel for bait, happy to say it was photographed and released as were all the other fish captured. the only bad thing about the venue were the midgies driving everyone mad.
final comment when this venue fishes it is one of the best in the north without a doubt ,best to fish it at darkness

Thanks John
The days of mass kill by shore anglers is ending rapidily, however the scourge of gillnetting etc is still a worry
cheers

True Stuart,
But hopefully as a collective unit we gather some force and put an end to that too!! Keep up the excellent angling.
