[*]People: Bingham and Me

Duration: 1.30pm-4pm

Tide: Big n Wet

Weather: Couple of light showers, snow on the hills.

Bait: Lug, Mack, Sandeel, Black Lug, Razor

Rigs: Loops, 2up1downs, Flappers, Penells.

Results:

Bingham : 2 Flounders
Drew : 1 Flounder

Report:

First time at this venue, and I can't believe how stunning it is! Left Millisle at around 10.45am, and on the way up phoned the 2 tackle shops in Portrush to see if there was any rag available, there wasn't, so it was straight to the mark (via the chippy!).
Got set up, and things were looking fishy! 3 Hook rigs were lobbed into the suds and bigger baits were fired to distance. despite its fishy looks there wasn't too much action, with only 3 Flounders turning up for the duration.

We were looking foreword to fishing into darkness at this venue to see what would turn up, but at around 3.15pm, a load of free floating bladderwrack turned up from nowhere, and made fishing through it a right pain.

One of those venues that looks so good you know you'll be back.. and great to get out and get another species for 2011!

Neither mate, on the beach... Close enough to the pans though, looks interesting to say the least!
Cracking spot!

hi man. that was bloody horrible weather up at ballycastle last night. 30mph n/w with torrential sleet and freezing rain. h/w was at 9.30pm but we could only stick it for 3 hours from 6pm to 9pm. in saying that the fishing was pretty good. i fished 2 rods, 1 at 100 yards and one at 50 yards. where as jordan only fished 1 at 50 yards. jordan was fishing to the right of the big rock that gets exposed at l/w and i set up on the beach with the other big rock to my back. i ended up with 10 coalies (the biggest was 36cm) and a 26cm flounder. i missed a great bite that almost bounced the rod off the tripod. but whatever it was only had one dig at it then thought better of it. to say i was gutted was an understatment  . jordan had less luck only getting 1 coalie and a single 5 beardy. but bite indication was impossible with big white horses breaking in at 100 yards churning the crap outta everything. our 6 oz grippers were almost useless, so we just reeled in every 20 mins to see if a fish was attached. i did get 3 double hook ups thow :P . but like i said, by 9pm i could'nt even bait up as my hands were numb and useless to me. i could'nt even get my coat zipped up so we called it a day and all the traces were just cut off and thrown into the bait bucket in a ball
but sure,,, it beats sitting in the house  :D

Brilliant man! Knew it would be a certain in the dark! Horrid conditions by the sounds of it, but you may find that actually helped the fishing. Deffo a mark that needs a bit attention! I'd say Bingham and I will be back up there before too long! 8) Well done on getting a few!
