Sun Dec 05, 2010 12:26 pm

People: me and Dylan

Duration:9am til about 6pm

Tide:filling

Weather:dry with quite light wind

Bait:mack

Rigs:everything

Results:coalies,coalies and more coalies

Report:Headed to pick Dylan up at 8 am and skied or way to Malin head for a session on the pier
just me and Dylan today as Don was having a BBQ :P and Tom had the man flu,it really is a bad flu these women don't realize how bad this flu is :D
Any how we were set up and fishing at 9and on went the kettle.
Bait was freshened up every 8 or 10 mins but not a touch not even a crab cleaning the hooks so we decided to pack up near 12 and headed for Bunagee in Culdaff in the hope of not getting the dreaded blank

So got set up in Culdaff and the kettle was on again,Hard to beat the steady flow of coffee on a cold day.
The coalies started coming thick and fast for me but Dylan was starting to get worried changing rigs from this to that but he was soon bringing them in.
The best we had was 40cm with the rest a very skinny 22-25cm.
A local lobster boat came in and was unloading his catch and I got a few shots of one of the biggest lobsters I have ever seen.
Packed up around 6 as it was freezing cold and left Dylan home and stopped in for a wee pint before going home

That's the biggest lobster I've ever seen  Do you carry the bands in case you get one unexpected? I must get some myself for the summer when I get the pots out again.

Great coalie too!

Thanks for reply's guys
Garlic butter sounds nice with the lobster Al and I think if I had it I'd soon find a pot big enough for it

Rob any lobster fisherman will give you a hand full of those bands if you ask them but you will need the plier things for stretching them out to go around the claw
