Just me fishing.
Duration- 10pm to 3am.
Tide- 1.30am, high water.
Baits- frozen ammo sandeel/ frozen squid.
Weather- freezing easterly, got very strong after 1am. Snow and sleet towards the end. Mixed bright moon and cloudy dark spells.
Results- 3 flounder, 3 whiting, 5 coley.
Tried a beach I never fished before due to hearing talk of bass being caught there. No sign of one for me yet, though in fairness I probably hadnt the best bait to tempt one of those boys anyway.
Very pleased with 30cm and 28cm flounder, better one was nice and thick, on squid strip, smaller one took sandeel on pennell rig. I would have fished on but it got so harsh I had to stand with my back to the sea, strong wind driving sleet into my face. Hands became pretty useless.
Bites were steady for most of it, but must have been very small fish, whitng and coley I expect. As usual a few good thumps were missed, I think the small fish were leaving the sandeel in tatters and hanging off the pennell rig at right angles makin it harder to hook fish. Must bind them up better in future.
