[b]Report me and thomas headed for malin head this week for a session, got everything set up and rods were out. for the first few hours fishing was very slow, with just the odd rattle on my rod at distance. then cathal and dilan landed down, they were round at culdaff digging lug for todays comp, so they called round for a throw. i got the stove on for my grub about 1, after a good feed i was ready i also had my ugly stick gold spin rod set up with a small f/s reel loaded with 10lb spiderwire, thomas also had a spinning rod set up, so we began with casting out about 20 yards and teasing small fish baits in as slow as we could, BANG!! the coalies were flying in at a steady rate singles and doubles. cathal and dilan then got in on the action and were soon hauling them in to. there were no great size to them, the best ones would only have been around the 3/4lb mark, but there were plenty of them and on light gear they were good crack, i ended up pulling in a seagull that got tangled up in my line, but then thomas was pulling one in and a black diver grabbed and swallowed it when he got the diver to the pier it chocked the fish back up, and then tryed to grab it again it was going mental trying to get it, so thomas teased the sh*t out of it i have it on tape and will add it later. only thing missing this week was big tom, he is away in liverpool for 10 days or so. he will be rageing that he missed the the crack with the coalies not many pic's, was to bissy. wrong date on video for i downloaded it into another file, but it was taken yesterday, same with pic's.

Ok. Just thought it might be just the thing that could be taken up wrongly by animal welfare groups etc. As for keeping your tits in the freezer, well I can't help you there.

that was one determined cororant . the coalies seem to be in force everywhere at the moment. almost makes you wonder with more commercial pressure being put on pollock for consumption are the coalies populating grounds the pollock used to hold?. i noticed a distinct decrease in 3lb+ pollock from a lot of our rough ground shore marks this summer. it will be interesting to see what the next few summer's catch returns will yield
