Just wanted to share this shot of 3 fish caught by the man fishing next to me off the rocks today at Cushendall, Co Antrim. These are the 2 better of 4 codling he got today at approx 5pm, high water, fishing good black lugworm. They were about the pound and a half each. He had other coley, dab, flounder and a dog. I had 3 coley, a flounder and 3 edible crab.

Well Polmac,
This was at Limerick point, near Dalriada slip. Used to be a great plaice mark but the bin lids I used to see boys landing there when I was a kid are a thing of the past. Theres a few marks fishing out onto clean sandy borttom that few people ever fish off. The accessible places tend t be fished hard though.
Talk later,
ps, what were yous at with the shamrocks this year? Oh aye, we didnt do much better!
Cathal.

Havent done any conger fishin myself but I know a couple of lads that are happy enough sitting chattin for ages with a mackerel on big hook over a rocky over hang waiting for the pull. They get them an odd time. One of them doesnt bother with a rod, just handlines.

Aye nuff said about them.
You can get rag or frozen baits in O Neills country sports on Mill St in Cdall. But youd want to ring in advance and check they have some. 217 72009, Tom or Nicole. Their shop is v close to Johnny Joes pub.
They usually get their rag in on a friday but he was tellin me the demand falls off in winter and they dont order it if its going to be wasted so ring and ask first. Theyll hold bags for you if you ask.
Just tried to fish Glenariff beach but rough and full of dead seaweed, impossible though it looked the part , good and rough. Goy a coley, 2 whiting and a crab at the pier but it got far too rough, the waves are coming up over the point of the pier, think its a S Easterly, getting fresher all the time.

I wish it was me who got those codling, I had a few good hits round the time the other fella caught them but I missed my chances. Al and Jordan, I see you had a busy days fishing at Red Bay pier last weekend, nice variety.
