Report:
Headed down to Downhill for a marathon session, beach was fairly busy as the road to benone was closed, so we found our spot and settled in for the night. Gary was the first to get a hit with a small turbot and then hit a bin lid flounder real nice size! Dave was next using frozen lug he brought in a wee coalie and another small turbot.
With the blank looming over me i was thinking it was going to be a bad night, so changed my bait from squid stuffed with peeler, to rag hoping even for one of the small turbot's that where being caught. Then boom reeled into something heavy, when the fish came outta the surf i realised it was a nice plaice and a whiting, so the dreaded blank gone i could relax and enjoy myself.
Couple more turbot between us which equalled 8 fish in total which was a good night.
After midnight (low tide) things started to be come a bit of a nightmare, the amount of weed (if you can call it that, more like hedges and leaves) we where pulling in was depressing, must be due to all that rainfall we've had the last week or so.
But all in all a good trip out.
