Report: We arrived expectantly at the pier to find a couple of anglers already there, but there was plenty of room still left at the front for the 3 of us, but that was really all the space taken. A quick chat with the other lads to find out what was happening, and the reply was a disappointing, 'Not much really'. They had been there from 1pm that afternoon.
Anyway we got the rods rigged up with the usual flappers and pulleys, and I flung an extra conger rod out below my feet with a Mackie head on,in the hope something might pick it up. Kev got straight into the small fish, and as I had my baits a bit further out,I didn't expect anything to happen for a while, so the pan came out and in went the sausages.

So 20 mins later and we got tucked into the hot dogs. That was all tidied up just in time for a few decent fish to start coming in. Fenster got a new species for him, a small Dab ,in amongst all the whiting, and a few decent Coalies.

I got a few decent doggies before I got a run on the Conger rod, temptation got the better of me as the line went slack, and I struck into nothing, so it was back out with a fresh whiting, and about 10 mins later another run, this time a good weight on the line. As I got the fish to the surface, I got a fleeting glimpse of what appeared to be a good strap Conger, before it spat the bait out and disappeared into the dark. Disappointing, but that's fishing.

We could here plenty of fishing jumping about us all night, and it was obvious a few seatrout were out there. Fenster came up with his novel method of taping 2 light sticks to his float and launching it out with a sandeel as bait. The float was under right away, and was fantastic to watch. No seatrout I'm afraid but a little Coalie. It was worth a try tho'!

A good night allround, only spoilt with a couple of boys, moving in behind us, and leaving their deisel car running all night, shattering the piece and quiet and drowning us in fumes, only because they had turned up wearing light fleeces and became freezing cold very quickly.
Don't worry about the 1/2 dozen pairs of blue surgical gloves, the roll of tin foil, and manky mack you left behind, along with all the baby wipes, I picked it up and put it in the bin for ya's lads!!!!!

They other boys beside us were a dedicated bunch alright, as we packed up at 2am, they were still there! Fair play to them!!
