People:me and a mate
Duration:6pm- 10 pm
Tide:full @8.15pm
Weather:fine, wind increasing from NW
Bait:crab, lug, mac
Rigs:various
Results:Wanted to try a new mark which looked likely and arrived , set up and had 4 rods with baits in the water before 6pm. It was a beautiful evening and a pleasure to watch the sun going down over the Aran islands......"oh my mama told me there would be days like this""
2 flounder 18 & 20 cms in the first hour raised hopes of an eventful evening. Alas it was not to be fishing wise and the sea went quiet. Strangely enough even the gulls disappeared as the sun went in, it was as if all lifeforms had ceased to be!!!!. The most eventful part of the evening lay ahead. On arrival back at the car (not terribly easy across dunes in the near darkness) I couldnt find my my car keys. My unamed mate who was last to have possession of the said keys proceeds to tell me he had "left them on a rock beside the rest of the gear".........arrrghhh.........on top of this the 2 lights we had were failing rapidly!!!! To cut a long story short, 1.5 hours later he eventually found the keys in a crack in a rather large rock. They had obviously been washed into the crack as a result of a wave at high tide. , it was a miracle indeed-)

someone was looking on down on us for sure. I dont even want to think about the consequences had we not found the keys. No sign of anyone in the caravan park, it was completely deserted.........
