Mayo beach 29th Sept 2010

Fri Oct 01, 2010 10:07 am

People: Myself and Bruce

Duration: About 2-3 hours

Tide: coming towards full tide, no moon unless at the end

Weather: calm, big swell in off the atlantic. light breeze, dry, odd shower

Bait: lugworm

Rigs: zip slider and 1 hook paternoster

Results: nil

Report:

Fished a remarkably big surf on a Mayo beach the other night, 8-10 pm on a rising tide. Think the swell was too big. Tide was pretty big too. Lead was getting buried especially after about 9 pm.

Funny the things you forget and have to reacquaint yourself with when you are doing a specific type of fishing... left a mobile phone in the wrong pocket, with obvious results.

Still, nice night to be out, and I guess I can't expect bass every session!

:D
