People: Powderkeg, Toe(cant remember his username) and myself
Tide: dropping
Time: 3pm - 7:30pm
Bait: Rag, Mack and Sandeel
Result: Wrasse and more Wrasse and afew Pollack and more Wrasse again
Havnt done a report in awhile so said id stick one up.
Headed down to one of our more successful rock marks for abit of float fishing on light tackle.
Was a scorcher when we arrived and were actually worried about getting burnt.
Fishing was real slow at first with toe and myself missing a fish each.
After an hour and abit of debate we moved around to another rocky area to try our luck.
The sea was dead calm and still abit high so we taught this might explain why we were getting nothing.
Soon after powderkeg was lashing in the wrasse from his spot some absolute beauty ballans too, reckon 3 to 3 1/2 lbs. We all all threw our floats in the area and before the float settled it was gone down. Never seen so many wrasse being landed they were literally jumping out of the water, all sorts of colours and sizes. There must have been a shoal right below us in a feeding frenzy I even got one on the head of a ragworm before i could rebait again. The fish became harder to hook and lot went into the kelp so we lost a few floats but it made it a better buzz as you had to time it right everytime. There was afew small pollack in between also. Every fish was on rag.
The nice weather soon turned to torrential downpours, we had to bailout as the exit route was turning into a waterfall.
Good craic all round!
The mark was given to us by a member of the site so will throw up some pics when i can do some editing.
Cheers,
