dublin on the full moon and rain

Fri Sep 24, 2010 3:32 am

wanting to get out for ages and managed to dig a few lug and pick up a few peelers from the shoreline rocks.
9pm headed out for a rising tide
went to my local dublin mark and got soaked before i even set up my gear!
i found a sheltered spot and was fishing by 10.
water was still low but i was hopeful of a bite or 3!
northerly winds were horrible but i found a spot to avoid them,(tightlines on here knows the mark  )
i missed a good knock from the rod rest!
but the next cast produced a nice 45ish cm bass on the crab.
unhooked from the landing net and away with no pic as it was so gnissip rain!
i missed 2 more solid rod benders from the rod rest and packed up around 1.
happy to get out at last and one bass was a gift!
moral is, hold yer rod and catch more fish :)

yer spot on Al & J and when using a little spinning rod for a good scrap i should just leave the rod rest at home :). makes sense too in the wind for bite detection!
no slackliners this time just mental drive and drops! no second chances!
