south beach arklow

Sun Sep 19, 2010 10:25 am

People me and my boys

Duration: from 4:30 till 9pm

Tide: high at 5:30 i think then dropping

Weather: calm and warm

Bait: some leftover lug, crab and mackeral

Rigs:single pulley and 3 hook flapper

Results: a bucket load of doggies, a small flounder and a hermit crab ( my first) lol

Arrived onto arklow south beach and set up rods cast out and just went to cast out second rod and noticed a decent tug but nothing after, cast my second rod in close looking for some flats and decided to check the other rod, it was heavyish yipie the boys were excited, a nice dogfish. the evening continued the same with at least 10 doggies, a small flounder and a hermit crab clingon. i know some people hate these but it was great for the lads and a good way to use up some old lug.
