Thu Sep 16, 2010 9:15 pm

5th
We all rendezvous 3pm at Honingham for loading gear into Trevs car,him n Pete on the road at 16-15 to Fishguard for the early AM sailing.
6th
Fred n me depart Honingham 04-45 to Stanstead for the 08-20 flight to Shannon, a 1.5hr flight delay made little difference to our plans other than P n T arrived 1st at our Wine Strand chalet, some 6mls north of Dingle and surfy beach area.Alas the predominant southerly winds did little to help the surf all week.
We arrived at 14-00 and i was soon into action at Wine strand cove (WSC) 200yds from chalet,15-30 to 18-00 for a solitary plaice.
HT about midnight 3 of us head for Dingle harbour 21-30 to 01-30 for conger, Fred a 12lber,Trev 8lber and Ped a 10 and a 14lber, good start to week.
Pete had a mare in the Irish night blackness on Wine strand surf beach,1st chuck a ton of weed so had to move. While traversing a mini cliff his headlamp reflected 2 prs of eyes (this an area of haunted repute(ref Geoff Gonella book)) suddenly these eyes thundered toward him, Pete laden with his gear n box (always worth a cwt) leapt to the rocks some 8ft below (checked out the next day) fortunately only suffering from bruised feet n ego, The eyes turned out to be a horse and donkey, prob seeking attn.
7th
We all head to Lighthouse rocks 11-30 to 18-00, Pete on the L/hse steps straight into a full string of macks, alas only about 10 more followed during the sesh, loadsa mini pollock took the feathers tho. Armed with fresh macks he latched onto 3 thorniesto 9lb and a lost conger last chuck.
Me n Fred on ctr rocks had 3 large macks, pollack to a lb and a 5lb thornie.

Trev traversed the rocks to become marrooned on HT, he had a few bits n pieces inc 3 small rays and 1.5lb dab.
8th
I took myself to WSC for the early ebb 01-30 to 04-30 and had 2 tiny straps,6 pouts to 3/4lb,dab turbo and a 41cm flounder.
14-00 to 19-00 P n T tried Stradbally for a mixed bag o flatties and 5bass to 3lb.
F n me, after a few beach recces decided on Hawaii 5/0, a small deep cove near Brandon, subject to heavy Atlantic swells, all F could muster was a lost strap in surf and a huge fairly hooked jack crab, 9" accross with claws as big as yer hand, i had 2 macks and a spider crab.
9th
T n P dug lug while me n F did the haunted Black strand beach, some 500 yds from chalet, 09-30 to12-30, just a weever in that flat surf.
15-00 to 18-00 T tackled Minard in the rain for a few pollacks n dogs, P at WSC produced a mixed bag of flats and 2 macks, me n F at Trabeg for a lsd, a 1lb bass n 2 flouders.
10th
07-00 to 08-15 me n F over the Conor pass to Brandon pier for bait macks, was straight into a full string, in 15 mins we got about 40, the next hr about 10, at least some more fresh bait.
All to Trabeg 11-00 to 15-00 for just a weever and a flounder in the heavy surf.
17-00 to 21-00 me n F to WSC for flounder plaice n lsd.
11th

All to Stradbally 14-00 to 20-00, torrential showers and nice surf but no bass, we all had flatties, F with a 42cm flounder and Pete with a brace of 3lb turbos.
12th
Early morning to WSC for me, 07-00 to 09-30, a blank.
18-00 to 22-30 final conger bash at D harour, F lost a 5/6lber, me blank, Mr T had 5 to 20lb and missed many bites.
13th
Me n F fly back from Kerry 16-30 to a flat car battery, me not shut door properly!!! had to wait less than 5 mins for a courtesy jump start, well done Pink Elephant.

Thoroughly enjoyed the week, plenty o 'Fungi' sightings, and he's got some more performing mates too.

Latest info 21-00 16-9-10 from 2 buddies still there, plenty macks at Dingle and Brandon
