Donegal Beach

Tue Sep 14, 2010 10:39 pm

People: The Unofficial Newtownabbey Sea Angling Club

Duration: 6 hours

Tide: flood

Weather: westerly around 10-15mph, with showers

Bait: Rag, Mack, Sandeel

Rigs: Flappers

Results: 9 turbot, 6 flounder, 2 coalie

Report:

There was a bit of surf running and things looked really promising, first hour was slow with a lot of weed being thrown up on the beach. It soon settled and we where getting bites, plenty of small turbot being caught and flounder to around 35 cms. We fished right up to the high water and dark, 2 small coalie just as darkness fell. All fish were returned to fight another day. This was the first time we fished this beach and probably wont be the last.
