People:Bassmania & Myself

Duration: 14.00 to 22.00

Tide: Incoming

Weather: Wild

Bait: Lug & Sandeel

Rigs: 2 hook flappers

Results: 3 bass and 5 flounder

Report:
Hit to our lug mark first at low tide to get some fresh bait, for the first time we got some decent rag mixed in with the lug.
Set up at the mark things were blustery but was still fishable, the one thing that worried us was that the water was very murky but we got things ready and started the session for the first hour or so was very quiet and the doubt gremlins were starting to creep in as things were getting a wee bit wilder. Then out of the blue one of my rods took a decent knock but unfortunatly did not connect, reset this rod and was baiting up the other rod when the rod took a good thump, struck in and could feel that there was a fish on, decent fight and up pops a lovely bass that weighed in at 4.5lbs, Doubt Gremlins dismissed, Bassmania then caught a couple of bass but they were babies but still a good sign that the fish were in the area, we then started to get a run of flounder nice size but nothing huge, unfortunatly after that their was no more bass to be seen, the weather progressively worsened through the session so at 10pm as we were getting battered we decided to call it a day

Hi Seamus, Ive been hanging around North Clare for the last few months, it's been fishing well and We have taken double figure Huss and conger and wrasse to over 4lb.
I haven't been out after bass much(just once and the weed sent me home after an hour) I won't really start looking for them until everything else has gone.

Neil
