Report:Went back to the same beach as last week to try extend our run of smoothies well into September. Myself and Neil arrived first and got set up and Ger and Ringo arrived as we sent out our first baits. Neil had a flounder early on but Ger got our hopes up for a good night as he pulled in a nice Smoothound on his first cast

. Quick photo and it was released. I had three Dabs and a whiting in quick succession early on with one Dab taking a crab bait on a 3/0

. It drizzled early on with some angry looking black storm clouds overhead but thankfully they passed us by and sailed on out to sea and we had a lovely night after that

. Ringo was set up at the far end and he came up with a nice fat Dab of 27cms,i had one 26 last week but Ringo's was twice as thick

. He was also was pulling in doggies which I thought were smoothies( bad eyesight), ,,,then the doggies started taking my crab baits

. A shout from Ger took my eye away from the rod tip and I ran up (slowly

) with the camera to find him landing a nice Thornback Ray, first one i've seen this year

. Ger was really in the zone and hooked into another big smoothie shortly after, bringing it onto the beach 50 yards left of him but in the process he got tangled in Neils line and lost the fish, an estimated PB for this year

. I eventually got my smoothie, a small pup, but I wont complain as I had a busy night with 6 x whiting, 4 x dabs, 6 x doggies and a pup smoothie

. The lads will post what they got but they included doggies, smoothies, whiting, rockling, flounder, and dabs. Left at 11pm as I had work next morning but Ger and Ringo stayed on
