[b]Report headed off early to give the pier at rathmullan a session for its been a while since i've fished it, also tom has never fished this place before so was good to get him out to a new mark. we got ourselfs set up at the left side of the pier, i put my first rod well out to try for a thornie, was in the middle of baiting up the flapper on my other other rod when i seen a definite knock on my first rod, reeled in and land the first fish of the day, a tub gurnard. next the son landed a nice sized doggie, then another and another, they kept coming. i then started to land the doggies, then i got a double shot of a doggie and a flounder. ( tom was getting worried at this stage for he was not off the mark yet ) but then tom lifted in to something, but it dropped off on the way in

and it happened again

after me and the son landed a few more, i heard ...one on!!!

and tom landed his first doggie, so that was now the three of us catching. afer a while the son retired to the car for a kip, and me and tom kept banging away at the doggies. then another double shot for me, a scorpion fish and a rockling, this was followed by another double of puckers. tom was still landing the doggies, and then landed a flounder. i then landed a red gurnard, a lovey deep coloured fish. by this time the slip way was packed with people getting ready for a charity swim across to buncarana

about 50 or 60 off them swam across it, now thats a fair ole distance to swim. another nice sight was the navy boys came up the lough on a rib and asked the men on a trawler could they move the boat for they had to moor their's at the front of the pier, they could not move for their skipper was not there, so the navy dropped anchor just out in front of the pier.
it was then that tom got the biggest catch of the day......a man in a canoe

after that it was home time, so we packed up the gear and headed for home, a cracker of a session and a good days crack.
