After a very long drive, having stopped off to buy lug in Carrickfergus (highly recommended and good value), I started fishing on a rising tide. Weather was initially warm but breezy. I had intended to fish after dark but the rain put paid to that.
I'll get my whinge out of the way first. The rock mark was an absolute f**king disgrace (see picture). All kinds of litter left by other anglers so I spent 10 mins gathering up as much as I could and putting a match to the combustible stuff.
First hour I got lots of bites and three smallish codling. Two pan sized. After that things slackened off but I ended up with two more codling, a small pollack and a tiny coalie.
Duration: 15:30 to 20:30
Weather: dry and windy then wet and windy
Bait: lug & mackerel
Results: 5 codling, 1 pollack and 1 coalfish
