Report:
After a fruitless search for rag on Friday, and no time to dig myself, I settled for Sainsburys mackeral and prawns, and headed down to the Dee for a few hours. I think there might have been a shore comp on that afternoon, because as I was unpacking the car, a load of guys passed me with tripods, rods etc
The charter boat had just got in when i arrived at the pier, and as I passed guy who had just got off it, he saw my rods and offered me some fresh mack. Result!!
Got both rods setup, fishing one of them straight down the wall, and the other half way between the 2 piers. The bites came regularly, with the first fish (a 30 cm coalie which nearly pulled the rod in!), being followed by a mix of pollack and coalies, all around the 20 - 25cm mark.
A poor cod followed (they must be like buses, because I had never caught one before last week, and this was the second lol).
The fishing went quiet around midnight, although I was getting occasional hits on the close in rod, but no hookups. So, I lifted the rod from the holder, and after 3 or 4 unsuccessful strikes, i managed to connect with what turned out to be shore rockling to round of the night.
All in all, an enjoyable session, and my best one of the year.
