County Clare Wrasse

Sat Aug 14, 2010 6:02 pm

People:Myself and a mate
Time:13:00hrs-15:00hrs
Tide:Low and 2hrs of the rising
Bait:Limpet
Weather:fine and cloundy but dry and about force 3-4 wind's
Rigs:Simple ledgered Wrasse rig's
Fish caught:Me 2 Wrasse and a starfish and my mate an unfortunate blank

Report:A mate of mine has never been fishing before and asked if he could come along yesterday,
and i said yes as it is a great hobby to get into but as you can see above he did not
have any luck only in the repsect of him loosing the fish from the only bite he had but as we all know that this
happens and you can blank from time to time but it was friday the 13th,and he got a good soaking from a wave breaking
on the rocks behind us (LOL) but anyway my 1st Wrasse wieghed 2lb 8 oz but did not weigh the second
as it looked about the same size or maybe a little smaller, but even though he did not catch anything i hope
he keeps coming along as he seemed to enjoy it as it was a good laugh!!!!!!

Can you get hold of any King Rag from anywhere? The wrasse up here have been playing hard to get but they have been going mad for the rag. The only problem is it does tend to draw the smaller wrasse where hardbacks are more selective.

I caught these on limpets/barnacles and they are a very tough bait,
which you can use at least 2 times!!!!!

Well done Anthony,

Nice to see you getting out more often dude, you should make the best of it man because its going to be a long winter,

Soz for not stopping to chat the other day but my head was shot because of that bolt snapping on the impeller  , I drilled it out this morning and managed not to damage the threads  ,

Whom ever worked on it last never replaced the 2 Gaskets and only put back 2 of the 3 bolts that hold the cap on the impeller but its all sorted now with a new impeller and seals :D :D :D ,

I will have it moored out there the weekend just to take the look off all them expensive fare weather boats out in the bay, might see you around the weekend 8) ,
