Report:
Just back from two weeks of me holidays and some manic fishing sessions in the Wexford and Clare areas.
First up was Wexford: Got tides bang on and dug some lug and rag for bait. However, five days of fishin’ at various marks produced very little. Doggies, pollack and gurnard.
Next up Clare for four days: Pitched me tent in O’Connor’s camp site and headed off to Kilkee and fished my way back to Doolin. Fantastic fishin’. One two hour session produced 14 good sized wrasse. On a favourite pier mark came across Irish Golfer Paul McGinley with his family who were being taught how to fish by a local gilly. They caught a few small wrasse and a mullet. Here I caught a specimen size wrasse on a loaded lug three hook flapper at about 4.5lb.
Final day on another Clare pier produced a plethora of pollack and mackerel and a strap conger.
Finished off again in Wexford and hauled in two good sized smoothies, four schoolie bass, three flatties and two mackerel.
One week left later in the year of holliers. Roll on October.
Don't know how to put up photos.....Sorry.

Yeah...The best two weeks of pure wild fishin' I've had in a long while.
Just a question to anyone who may read this?
Is it me or are there more wrasse being caught this year than normal?
