we decide to go for abit of rock hopping and camping on rathlin ilsland so we got up at the break of dawn and got the ferry from ballycastle we arrived got a bite to eat and headed of with all r gear. rathlin is a stunning island with great veiws of scotland and fair head. it was a 2 mile hike then hopped over a few rocks and cast out r lines. we used diffrent tactics, float , spinning, jigging, and bottom fishing at diffrent distances. then the most annoying thing happend to me, i got a wack of a bite and when i first striked it i thought it was a conger then when it came up to the surface it was a 10lb + bull huss, i was so excited and my heart was pumping. i was reeling it in and my bro got down to lift the line and take the fish out of the water, but as he lifted it the huss bit through the 50lb mono and fel back in, my language cannot be repeated, i felt like throwing my rod and gear into the water i was fumeing

later my uncle joked and said i sounded like henry gilbey when he looses 1.lol

but my mood soon changed when the pollock started bitting we had 6 big pollock all round the 4-5lb mark then we caught 2 coallies while spinning and of coarse the allusive dog fish 7 of them. then we gatherd r gear and headed back to camp. but then we took r catch too the local pub and they fillited and batterd r catch and it was washed down with a nice cold pint. all and all great days fishing and ill be back next year for a blast.
