People: Me & Daniel
Duration: 9:00 - 12:00
Tide: High at 10ish
Weather: Nice but cool
Bait: Rag
Rigs: 2 hool flappers
Results: Me 2 pollack & 1 Corkwing Wrasse (All Small)
Daniel: 1 Coalie, 1 Pollack & a flounder
Report: We only had a few hours free so headed to D'dee rather than heading north.
When we arrived conditions were perfect but the fishing was slow. There was a steady trickle of RIBs coming and going which meant we couldn't really cast too far out (I lost 2 rigs to fast moving boats!) which was a pity cos when I put my baits near the far pier I was getting bites fairly regularly.
Anyhow, the number of ribs increased as did the crowds on the pier to watch them (some Lifeboat fundraising festival), at one point I had 3 people between me and my tackle box even though it was only about 6 ft away!
The guy with the dog was there too telling everyone about the congers! Its a good story and he tells it so well.
Anyway, fishing was poor but nice to be out and at least we didn't blank.

Yep nobuzz, i know what you mean about not being able to cast too far because of the boat traffic. I caught my coalie with a longer cast and let my float drift round to my right, also got a couple of bites that way. When i shortened my casting distance... nothing. I was first to arrive at the pier around 7.50 am, and thought, beautiful morning and peace and quiet lol. I tried to ignore conger man with the dog, but he cornered me

Think I know who you guys are talking about..

think we have all met this guy

and to be honest its strange that regular catches of congers aren't reported (as most harbours have resident congers) but i have yet to see or hear of a conger caught here (in recent years) not for the want of trying but only get dogs

Paulybo,
Saw one conger caught last year and had one drop off as I lifted it up the wall also, so there are congers there.
2 years ago there was talk about a guy who was catching and killing the congers.

I was fishing at the corner at the railings. Just dropped the bait straight down. No idea of weight but it was about 3' long. The one which I saw being caught was a bit smaller.
