People: Me & Daniel
Duration: 10:00 - 13:00
Tide: High at 4:00ish
Weather: Broken Cloud & breezy
Bait: Mackerel
Rigs: Float
Results: 20 plus pollack & 3 coalies
Report:
Decided to hit Garron Point despite not having any rag and only having some fairly old frozen mackerel for bait.
We went armed with a several rods so that we could experiment a bit. Unfortunately when we arrived there was already a family fishing in "our spot". The guys were happy to make a bit of space for us. It wouldn't have felt right to fish multiple rods in the tight space so we settled for the float gear.
Had a pollack within seconds of the float hitting the water. The rest of the morning carried on in a similar vein with both Daniel & myself getting pollack on a regular basis. Most were about the 1/2lb mark but a couple nudged over 1lb. A few fat coalies turned up later on, these were a bit bigger being all over 1lb.
Bigger fish were caught a bit further out but the breeze and lack of space due to others fishing made it a bit tricky to control the floats at range.
One of the other guys fishing had a nice pollack of about 4lb.
When we were leaving I filled a bag with litter and discarded line. I could have filled another 10 bags if I'd had time! On the plus side I found 4 leads when I was tidying up!
A nice morning's fishing rounded off by chips on the way home.

Nice bit of fishing that. Pity about the rubbish but a lot of marks are like that, sadly.
