Streedagh Point Sligo - 29th 07 2010

Fri Jul 30, 2010 11:37 am

Duration: 12.30 - 18:30

Tide: Low 13:30

Weather: Calm

Bait: Rag

Rigs: Rotten Bottom Flappers

Results: 5 Wrasse

Report: Have not fished this mark for years and finally got to try it again today. Really dirty ground so was using rotten bottoms.
In the end caught 5 Ballan Wrasse with the biggest about 2lb and lost at least double that amount again. There are really large wrasse here but they can be really hard to land as they bury themselfs in the rocks when caught. Will be back to try on a high tide as lots of gullys.

this mark can be very good for large wrasse and pollock very rough sea bed it's just perfect for these speasies and to land a good sized wrasse is the usual issue, but 5 nice wrasses is good job so well done lad i'll gona hit this mark soon meself there is curent swinging at the very point so pollock fishing with the lures could be amazing well done again

Tried spinning for a bit as well. I would say it would produce some nice Pollack as well on a rising tide.
