Weather:Beautifull
Bait:Mackerel
Rigs:12ft beachcaster w/3 hook flapper/3+4+5oz breakaway's - 12ft surfcaster w/2 hook anti-crab rig/3oz breakaway
Results:1 Flatfish (flounder?) 1 doggie
Report:Set off from home around 5pm hoping to get a good long session in on the beach. Arrived shortly after 5.30 and got all my gear sorted and chair unpacked ready for the evenings entertainment.
The fish did not shy away this evening. Something very bold was giving the light tipped surfcaster(anticrab rig) a hammering throughout the 4 hours,I tried to strike into the bites a couple of times when the signals were good, alas I failed
Undeterred,I fished on replacing bait every 20 mins or so. Got done replacing surfcaster bait and had just set it back into the rest when the fat lardy beachcaster nearly shook itself out. Gentle retrieve to eventually land this.

Smaller than my biggest but I believe a catch is a catch,no matter what size!
**A bit later on**
Both rigs back in again with fresh bait and with the silt barely settled, big rods goes mad again. Theres a bit of a fight this time so eased the line back in cautiously and to my surprise this fine dogfish gave a little splash.

Have no scales so can really only guess the weight but I'd rate the doggie somewhere around the 2 1/2 - 3 1/2lb mark.
Pretty uneventful after this until I decided to grab some water in a coke bottle for hand rinsing after baiting and a freak wave engulfed my boot, bit squishy underfoot after that lol. (My knee is giving me grief)
So by 8.30 ish activity seems to have dried up and I decided to pass the time playing with my phone camera (Nokia 5800 Music xpress) ***Background story*** Andy pointed out to me the other day that we've both rode the coast road thousands of times (I'm a massive Yamaha fan) yet never actually appreciate much if any of it.
I doubt these are actually decent pics but I like them.

------------------------
If I was to redo this outing I would arrive earlier, closer towards dark and possibly take some live bait. Maybe with a bit more guidance and advice I'll get more productive, but rome wasn't built in a day
