arrived home from work today with no intention of fishing but when passing one of the local beaches i noticed a big surf up

,so put the foot down and shot back for the gear. first cast on my chosing mark today and one of the rods gave a couple of pulls 'not much like a bass take but grabbed the rod and struck anyway .felt a real good tug back and knew then it was a bass which pulled for freedom all the way to the shore .
still hav'nt gotten round to getting a new set of scales yet but i reckon she was over 4.5lb .i could only take a pic of the fish on the sand as there was nothing around me to sit the camera on so very difficult for you to guess a weight. also on the same hook hidden under the bass was a small flounder , wonder if the flounder was hooked first and the bass went for it ,maybe thats why the take was different could be worth trying out some time ,anyway great start to an unplaned session .was'nt too long when i had another one about 2lb and then another but this one managed to shake itself free. missed a couple more bites before i ran out of bait ,good job as i was starving.
all fish returned as always
