Wed Jun 30, 2010 3:34 pm

People:Me

Duration:7.30-9pm

Tide:HT 8.30

Weather:Fine

Bait: Xlayers

Rigs:

Results:Wrasse & Pollack

Report:
Tried somewhere new (to me) last night. Xlayers were working better than spinners with all the suspended weed. Managed a wrasse and a few pollack, nothing very big, but good craic. Must try for some bigger ones...
Fishing died off a bit after high tide.

Pollock are suckers for the Xlayers alright, but interesting you got wrasse on them too.
Must give them a go at some of my wrasse marks over the summer.

  Chuckin xlayers at pollack? Seems to work but i'd say it would end up being a pricey days rock hopping. Fair play gettin the wrass on the lures. I'm yet to catch one on bait so if i had one on a lure i'd be over the moon.

Not expensive at all
None broken and only one lost.
Got a few packs last year on the internet for under $10 for a pack of 8, very versatile lure.
Got them for bass cause I was sick of losing 20euro lures

I paid about 16 quid for a pack of 4 down in dan lynches a few weeks back. Must have a look on the net for them. Are they the small ones or the giant x layers.
