Must give the trout a crack: found a nice little pool well upstream on the Brickey that I reckon never saw a hook before. Better yet, no weed and no crabs

u obviously know too well yourself what the rules are if u live in dungarvan so why question it other than to cause trouble perhaps .it is exactly as u said word for word so u know this as a matter of fact your comment would suggest .. single barbless hooks etc. the young lad posted his experiences of an enjoyable weekend . who are u to question anything . its lads like u ruin the craic and fun in angling with your spoiling comments .u had nothing else to say about the days fishing the young lad had other than pass judgement on some fishing rule that some scientist invented to keep himself in a job . the colligan hadnt as many trout run it in 15 yrs .and yes it is catch an release . i didnt see in the post where any trout were killed or the method to which the trout fell was not mentioned either. perhaps if u went fishing more often yourself u might not be overly concerned with the activities of others .Figs wrote:Is fishing for seatrout with worms on the colligan not prohibited![]()
My understanding was that they could only be fly-fished for with a single barbless hook and it is catch and release for seatrout <40cm?
Perhaps someone can clarify

I have read the report a few times and still cant see where the rest of ye are getting the idea that he fished the colligan with worms, before ye start accusing someone of doing something get all the facts right first
I love reading your reports Trout Hunter Jnr,
