People: Just me (Daniel stayed in bed!)
Duration: 9:00 - 12:00
Tide: High
Weather: Bright & breezy
Bait: Spinners, rag & mackeral
Rigs: 2 hook flapper & pulley
Results: 2 Ballan Wrasse, 1 corkwing wrasse, 1 pollack, 1 rockling
Report: Daniel decided to stay in bed! SO I headed to Orlock myself having heard of a few wrasse & Red Cod being caught.
I started off fishing close in with rag on one rod and tried spinning for mackerel with the other. After about 5 minutes I had a cracking bite on the close in rod but it didn't stick! After that nothing for ages.
I switched to a pullet rig & a mackerel fillet at distance and still kept the other rod close in.
The close in rod started getting bites and soon I had a wee Corkwing. 2 minutes later I had a rockling then 2 ballan & a pollack all within half an hour!
One of the ballan & the pollack were slightly over the 1lb mark.
Just before I packed up I had a bite on the other rod (mack on a pulley) that nearly pulled the rod into the water. When I reeled in the bait was barely touched.
There were 4-5 other guys fishing, I don't think any of them got anything though I think they were all after mackerel.
One good thing about not getting too many bites is that I've still got plenty of rag left for tomorrow.

as the wind just got worse I ended up fishing a lake near by and ended up with a few rainbow trout

Scottarm,
Yeah, that was me.
I tried swff Orlock once but didn't feel too confident about it so gave up.
The back of D'dee pier is rumoured to be a good spot for pollack on the fly.
