Browns Bay, Co. Antrim 13/06/10

Sun Jun 13, 2010 5:20 pm

People:Myself

Duration:9.30am - 2pm

Tide:Rising

Weather:Sunny to start, then the rain came.

Bait:Ragworm, Mackerel

Rigs:3 hook flapper rig

Results:11 Doggies

Report:My God I experienced every season in one day, one minute baking in the sun with the t-shirt on and the next minute in the wet suit!! Wind was calm one minute and blowing a gale the next! The one thing that was consistant about today was the fishing, caught a Doggy around half an hour into the session and that was to set the tone for the day. After the fifth Doggy I stopped baiting up with Mackerel in an attempt to catch another species but the Mutts were happy enough to scoff down the ragworm too. One cast I was out at distance, the next I was close in, cast to the left, cast to the right, it didn't matter as the dogs were everywhere. Pleasant enough days fishing as I was kept busy with the dogs, just a shame nothing else came along.

Well done rab, great report and pics. It sounds like you where kept busy anyway, your arms must have been tired at the end of the session hauling all of them in. 11 doggies is a great result.
And as for the weather, well that's just our country all over isn't it, you can never plan what to wear as it changes so quickly.

You're right, could easily have been a blank session if the dogs weren't around.
