Donaghadee 10th June

Fri Jun 11, 2010 7:43 am

People:Me and the two kids

Duration:9:30pm - 10:30pm

Tide: Just High

Weather: Slight breeze

Bait: Feathers

Rigs:Feathers

Results: 16 Pollock between us.

Report: Decided at about 8:30pm to go down to the Dee for a quick session with the kids to get them out of the house. Got there and setup by 9:30pm and decided to have a little competetion, rules where we would fish for 1 hours, and only allowed to use 1 set of feathers. The results where Peter 8 Pollock, me 5 Pollock and Ryan 3 Pollock, although Ryan lost his feathers after about 25 minutes. The fish ranged in size from about half a pound to one and a half pound and where all caught from the back of the lighthouse.

It was a good we session.

good to see the kids got in on the action, i think it's really important that the kids catch something to keep their interest up  . where there many other people down fishing?

Al,

There was just us at the start but then some others "youths" turned up, but did not stay long.

i almost forgot about the influx of the summer "youths" down there    some right wee toerags in the summer down there  just have to keep telling yourself to remember they're likely under 18, so sometimes you just gotta bite your lip and say nothing, when a good clip on the ear would be the best remedy

If you fish off the back of the peir away from the lighthouse you can avoid them. They don't like loosing feathers in the kelp!
