Report:with the untimely arrival of big bruver a very quick plan was hatched to try a spot for smoothies that had produced well before ,on arrival at the mark the surf was horrid and full of sand not to mention prob unfishable so off to annyreily instead ,bites where few and far between with big crab baits getting malled but by smaller fish ,some rough lads from town where also on the mark but they could only manage dabs and dogs you know the type eric got one bass by accident that was carfully returned his first bass as a senior angler shame it didnt count i got one pin whiting and one 25 cm codling with the weather so rough we decided to pack up as it seemed the smoothys like it smoother lifted into my rod to pull out my gripper and low and behold the target species landed at my feet after a dogged fight through the surf

it was one of those nights you smoke alot!eric is a grown up now so i wont be hitting him anymore not even with my bait fork
i,m still not sure how i hooked it on a 3/0 baitholder

Horrible night fishing, us rough lads from town

Weather was pants hoped it would settle later in the evening but it didn't happen, We had dogs, dabs, flounder, Whiting and codling

Was there not a pic of Eric here too? Or am I really loosing it?

Really? But it was under size so it would have had to be put back anyway regardless of the ban. Plus I've witness Eric return countless schoolies the last few weeks leading up to the ban. Bit weird that there is mention of bass being caught from a known bass mark in another report and that's still up. Maybe a bit of a rash move but it is not up to me to say anything.

Well done Rog and Eric, very smooth indeed I'm glad to hear Rog that your not gonna hit Eric anymore now that he is an adult Nice pictures again Rog but I am disappointed that there isn't any of Eric, or have they been reserved for Irish Angler Mag again

i think they are the best fighting fish pound for pound or oz for oz as the case may be as for the picture of eric you see enough of him anyway so no loss

nothing worse than planning a session roger, only for the weather to put the kibosh on it . but at least you did'nt blank
