Wexford Tope Anglers Paradise

Mon Jun 13, 2005 8:30 pm

If you think you can handle the big stuff, then a trip to the Wexford beaches is a must. Rosslare Point is the hot spot at the moment, there were ten tope taken here at the weekend and the most productive time is still a week or two away. The beaches at Clones, Newtown, and Ballinamona have also produced the occasional fish.

Just back from Rosslare Point had one decent run of a tope early in the morning other than that it was very quiet. The tides are just too small atthe moment. You need a decent run, the tides next Sunday and Monday are ideal and this is the most productive time of the year. I see there is a local comp in Rosslare on Saturday night so all the local lads should be at that leaving plenty of room for the rest of us up onthe point.

Ya, there back again. Had a session this morning on the Point and had three good runs before landing two tope, the first was 19lbs and the second 28lbs. There was another lad there using fresh mackerel and he landed four in an hour.

We fish on the Point itself, on the mouth of the Slaney but fishing seawards. The wind has'nt done us any favours this weekend by turning northly, conditions are not good at the moment.

is it too late

heading down to the rosslare area next week, wondering if there is still any good tope fishing being done, or have i completely missed the good runs of them.

have'nt heard any reports of them for the last couple of weeks.
