Who: Myself

Weather: overcast

Time: 3 - 7.30 pm

Tide: Out

Bait: Lug

Results: Dogfish, dogfish, dogfish :D

Headed out to a deep water rock mark in the hope of catching a wrasse or some pollack. The tide was out which is perfect for this spot as with a rising tide its next to impossible to hold bottom. Was using some lug that I had dug first thing Saturday morning. After a bit of trek arrived at the spot. First cast hit a mother of snag. Took about 10 mins to dislodge. The weight must have got lodge in a crevace as with the final haul of the rod the rig came free. One of the grip wires had broken off. Second cast , and there was afamiliar wobble on the rod tip and then another. STruck in and after a few mins came the first doggie. He was lucky because as I got him close to the surface a seal surfaced and made a beeline for him. Hadn't caught one of these lads in about a year so it was good to see. He was hooked fairly deep but I had debarbed the hook so a quick pull with the pliers and it was out and back into the water with him. . Next cast, another doggie followed by about 9 or 10 more (lost count to be honest). No pollack or wrasse but will try this mark agaain over the next few weeks.
