Report:12 hardy souls fished Ballinoulart in perfect surf yesterday in the third round of the ECR Master Angler. Unfortunately the fish didn't realise the perfect conditions meant they should have been jumping out of the sea at us, although the North Easterly wind didn't help!!
Myself & Mark Sinnot on the low pegs got a decent flounder each in the first half hour although it was very slow for most of the day. The odd flattie was coming in along the stretch, and shortly after Mark hooked inot a fine Bass that was tearing to the right and left with mark chasing it up and down the beach. Unfortunately the size 4 match precarious hook hold dropped just when the fish was in the surf, we didn't even get to see it
Word filtered down the beach, the Gordy was catching plenty of fish down on the high pegs, on a massive hook & baits!! Sure enough he was catching some bass in the 30's and John Hughes had also added a silver bar to his tally. Dimitry also added a very hand double counting flounder and I fished with a 20cm flattie on my last cast!!
Special mention to Kevin & Pat who arrived 40 minutes late, after a detour via Ferns from Dublin

, and both managed to catch a flattie a piece! THr only blank of the day was Harold, which I must say I wasn't too unhappy about as I had drawn him in the Last man standing.
Final prize table was -
1st - Gordy Hardman
2nd - John Hughes
3rd - Dimitrios Kartsakis
4th - Alby
